Domain Authority and Page Authority are two metrics that Moz organization/company utilizes to determine the authority of a website.
Domain Authority Score is a score of how effective a website is to rank in search engines. To what level a website is ranking on search engine result pages (SERPs) can be estimated with DA score.

1. Domain Authority (DA):
- Scope: Domain Authority is a measurement that indicates the overall power or ranking capability of an entire domain (site).
- What It Measures: It takes into account some parameters like the quality and number of backlinks to the site, site age, site hierarchy, and overall SEO performance.
- Scale: DA uses a scale of 0 to 100, and the greater the score, the better the chances of the site ranking for a set of search queries.
- Use: DA can be used to assess the overall authority of a website, and it is simpler to compare websites based on SEO strength.
2. Page Authority (PA):
- Scop: Page Authority, on the other hand, addresses the potential ranking power of a specific webpage, as opposed to the entire domain.
- What It Measures: PA takes page-related factors into account such as page backlinks, page content quality, and topicality, as well as on-page SEO factors like internal linking. It calculates the probability of one page being ranked on search engine result pages (SERPs).
- Scale: Like DA, PA is also scored from 0 to 100. The higher the figure, the more likely the opportunities that the page will have to rank for a keyword or query.
- Use: PA is primarily used to compare the ranking potential of different pages, even of the same domain.
To understand the primary difference between domain authority and Page Authority:
- Scope: DA is used to measure the overall strength of an entire domain whereas PA measures the strength of a single webpage.
- Focus: DA is more concerned with the number, quality, and website authority of the backlinks whereas PA is concerned more with the backlinks themselves and page-level SEO factors.
- Use Case: DA is more applicable in comparing the general strength of a domain, but PA allows you to compare a page’s particular ranking capacity.
